No. If you are filing an individual tax return (Form 1040 or variants), you cannot e-file a prior-year income tax return. Neither Turbotax Online or the Desktop versions will allow you to do so.

The IRS only accepts e-filed individual returns from mid-January through mid-October following the close of the most recent tax year. This means you can e-file your 2007 tax return anytime between mid-January through mid-October of 2008. If you want to file a tax year 2006 or earlier income tax return, you need to print and mail your return.
