Error: "You haven't used TurboTax for the last 20 minutes...." When Signing in to TurboTax Online

When Signing in to TurboTax Online you receive this error "For your security -You haven't used TurboTax for the last 20 minutes. For your security, we have ended your session. If you have created a user ID, all your data has been saved. To pick up where you left off, log in again and we'll take you right back to the last page you were working on."

Your computer is trying to access a stored TurboTax page. Clean your cache of temporary Internet files and you can access TurboTax Online without the error message.

If you're using Internet Explorer, here's how to
delete your Temporary Internet files:

  1. Close all open browsers.
  2. Open a new browser and select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  3. Find the Temporary Internet files section on the General Tab and click Delete Files .This may take several minutes to complete.

If you're using a browser other than Internet Explorer, refer to your browser's Help for information on how to delete temporary Internet files.

If this does not resolve the error, we recommend editing your Temporary Internet files Settings so Internet Explorer checks for newer versions of stored pages.  For more information about this topic, please see "How and Why to Clear Your Cache" on Microsoft's web site at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/customizing/clearcache.mspx.
