Return Does Not Load Completely into Adobe Reader When Printing from TurboTax Online

When you select Print in TurboTax Online, your tax return should display in Adobe Reader, allowing you to view and print your return. You must have the Adobe Reader software installed on your computer to print from TurboTax Online.

Some customers have reported that when they select Print, either nothing happens, they get an error message, or Adobe Reader loads but their tax return does not appear.

This is usually caused by Pop-up Blockers being enabled when you are attempting to view and print your forms.

Here are some suggestions to troubleshoot this issue:

Select the Back button in TurboTax

You can select the Back button, then select the View Returns button again. You may have to wait longer than usual for the entire page to re-load in your browser:

  • If the page loads, continue following the on-screen instructions in TurboTax Interview  to complete your tax return.
  • If the page doesn't load within 20 seconds, try selecting the Back button again. Do not select the Continue button if the page hasn't loaded.

If disabling Pop-up Blocking with your Web Browser, follow the steps below to troubleshoot Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Install Adobe Reader
  1. Download the latest version of Adobe Reader from the Adobe web site and save it to your computer. Adobe Reader is free software offered by Adobe Corporation.

  1. From your Windows taskbar, select Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Locate and select  Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat Reader). There may be several Adobe Reader Updates installed as well.

  4. Select Remove.
  5. Once Adobe has been uninstalled, double-click your My Documents icon on your computer Desktop.
  6. Select Tools, Folder Options then File Types.
  7. Locate and click the PDF extension in the first column.
  8. Select Delete.
  9. Close all open windows then follow the above steps to Install/Upgrade Adobe Reader.

Install Foxit Reader
