Print Your Return for Your Records After You E-file

Whether you e-file or file by mail, we recommend that you print a copy of your returns for your records.

Printing a return for your records will include the forms and schedules you filed, plus supporting worksheets you don't need to submit to the IRS or the state taxing agency. Do not mail this version of your tax return.

If you e-file, print a copy of your return for your records only after your return has been accepted by the IRS or state taxing agency. You will be prompted by the TurboTax program to print a copy for your records after you e-file.

Note: If you signed your e-filed tax return on paper, you'll have to print and mail a Form 8453-OL to authenticate the electronic portion of your income tax return which you'll send to the IRS via U.S Mail before the tax filing deadline on April 15th, 2008. In addition to Form 8453-OL, there may other documents you'll need to mail to the IRS after e-filing.
