Manually Update TurboTax 2008 (Win)

If you're unable to automatically update TurboTax 2008 for Windows, you can manually download updates for your 2008 personal tax software.

 

Note: If you're using TurboTax Business 2008, get TurboTax Business updates.

Note: Manually updating TurboTax does not resolve connection issues caused by your computer setup. Your system's firewall, content blocker, Internet settings, etc., can prevent you from automatically downloading updates or using the Check for Updates feature in TurboTax. Connection errors will continue to occur until you resolve your computer issues.
 
Note: When you manually update, you apply the latest forms and software revisions to your TurboTax program. You may need to update again later, depending on your tax situation.
 

 

Follow these steps:

  1. Close all browser windows and programs, including TurboTax.
  1. Save the TurboTax 2008 for Windows download on your computer, and then run it to install the updates. (The images below show Internet Explorer. Your browser's windows may differ.)
