If you're unable to automatically update TurboTax Business 2008, you can manually download updates for your 2008 business tax software.

Tip: To work around any error messages, you can temporarily turn off automatically checking for updates and manually verify your TurboTax is up to date (for steps, see Update Preferences and Verify TurboTax Is Up to Date). When prompted in TurboTax, you can sign up to be notified when your forms are available, and upon notification, either download the updates or order the free update CD.
Note: Manually updating TurboTax does not resolve connection issues caused by your computer setup. Your system's firewall, content blocker, Internet settings, etc., can prevent you from automatically downloading updates or using the Check for Updates feature in TurboTax. Connection errors will continue to occur until you resolve your computer issues.Note: When you manually update, you apply the latest forms and software revisions to your TurboTax program. You may need to update again later, depending on your tax situation.
- Close all browser windows and programs, including TurboTax.
- Save the TurboTax Business 2008 download on your computer, and then run it to install the updates. (The images below show Internet Explorer. Your browser's windows may differ.)
