Biggest refund in Years, Best Choice for Filing“I used TaxAct for the last two years and felt that my refund amount could have been more. I promised myself that after last year's filing, I would try a different filing software. I am so glad that I used TurboTax because I have been missing out on getting the most out of my refund. Turbo Tax Never Disappoints“I use TurboTax every year. I have never been disappointed. I have been using them for years. I went from using Tax Act to TurboTax and haven't switched back. I even compare my taxes with TurboTax and Tax Act, and i definitely was getting my full max refund with TurboTax. I dislike that I feel the fees is always increasing and im always having to pay for some kind of package. I have never been charged to have money sent to my own bank account, but this year I was. I shouldn't be charged extra to have my money sent elsewhere and not something of there choice. Other then that TurboTax is the way to go.”

My best option“I'm retired and do simple, e-filed joint returns for Federal and State, with some years itemized and some years standard deduction. I left TurboTax a decade ago for others and tried TaxAct, H&R Block, IRS Direct File, and others because the cost was quite a bit cheaper. But they all seemed to have problems. One was so bad it wouldn't accept my 1099 because my withheld amount wasn't greater than my income, and they wouldn't respond to inquiries. Crazy. But I came back a couple of years ago. TurboTax is the daddy of all those others and has come a long way from the early days. It's worth the little extra cost for a smooth and reliable process. They've really become good at recognizing my situation and not asking questions that apply to 3 people in the whole country. I am a very happy customer.”

It's okay and easy to use“Turbo tax has always been easy to use. We have used it for 8+ years now however, the fees have gone up every year. Federal use to be free and state $39 or $49 now they charge you $39-$59 for federal another $39-$59 for state and $39 to get it as direct deposit. Sometimes you think it might be better to go to a tax professional to file it. Last year I got charged more than normal as well and almost went to tax act. We will see what we do next year depending on price again.”

I am surprised how much Loyalty matters“I rated fair because it is fair. I came to TurboTax over the years due to my taxes being so simple. I would rather just do them myself, as I only input one W2 that uploads automatically and I input the amount from unemployment without changing anything else because everything is already saved because I have used TurboTax for years. There are no discount fees for loyal customers! I was going to submit on TaxAct because it was cheaper, but I'm in a hurry. I will know for next year. TurboTax, give us loyal customers a break, please.”

I had to search the internet for contact information and waited a long time to talk to someone who tried hard to resolve this and failed. I could have used my usual (TaxAct) and got it done cheaper and faster.”

Inflation Sucks“I have been a Turbo Tax user for almost my whole adulthood. I understand taxes and income (theoretically) increase. However, the price to file is crazy high. TurboTax is also intense with asking you to upgrade, but they never give the option to downgrade. My taxes are not that difficult for me to understand, and I have thought about going to TaxAct or another company to file. However, I try to keep my annual documents in one place. It is just easier for future tax years.”

Was better filing through Credit Karma previously!“I filed taxes through Credit Karma from 2019-2021. It was awesome. If you needed last year's figures, you could find it. This year, I filed through Credit Karma again. You try something simple, like finding last year's figures to get your AGI (line 11) information, and it tells you "that information isn't available because you didn't file with TurboTax last year!" I know, but I did file through Credit Karm and I'm in the Credit Karma app but it wouldn't give me any of 2021's information. It seemed to create two TurboTax accounts, which it wanted me to sign into. When I want a code sent to my phone to sign in, it gives me an "Access is Denied" error constantly. The whole experience was very frustrating, and it cost me more money this time to file my taxes than last year. I think next year I'll go to TaxAct or something. It's going to be frustrating starting new with them, but it's worth a try after the frustration I had dealing with tonight's filing.”

Turbo Tax Sucks Now“Turbo Tax used to help so much with my taxes and now they took most of my return just so I can file this year. Charging me 3 fees just to insert my unemployment form and now I will be barely getting any money back because Turbo Tax charged me over $100. Cant they tell from my salary information that I can't afford that? I don't know why they changed their policy, but it was a dumb decision for them to make because I'm using Tax Act next year! Get your priorities straight Turbo Tax, you guys lost a lot of loyal users this years because you decided to be greedy.”

TT is the Best Option
